Barnet and Southgate College has four campuses across the London Boroughs of Barnet and Enfield. They also have specialised training centres for hospitality, catering and retail at Hospitality House in Finchley, and automotive body and painting at SC Body and Paint in Enfield.

 

 

 

     Join-IT was tasked with supplying new machines at their brand new ‘Colindale’ Campus, which was completed in September of 2016. We supplied them with many state of the art Samsung MFDs (Multi-Functional-Devices), including the brand new MX7 series with the ground-breaking Smart UX technology.  This technology will allow the users to access the printer via any Samsung tablet device and also enables the user to configure their experience further with more applications and widgets.

 

 

 

     These machines, which also have features such as DADF (Dual-headed automatic document feeder - twice as fast dual scanning) and a powerful quad-core CPU, were also installed alongside several MX4 machines, which are smaller but still have a great functional use with an efficient 30 pages-per minute speed, while retaining the fantastic visual quality of the MX7 range. To complete the trifecta of models which we supplied to them, we set up some SL-M4580FXs. These machines are purpose built for mono printing, as it is very efficient and offers an exceptional 45 page per minute print speed.

 

 

 

     The printers which we at Join-IT supplied have saved Barnet and Southgate College not only a sizeable amount of money, but also a lot of hassle. These Samsung machines we supplied are very reliable, and thanks to this the users can relax and not worry about technical issues.

 

 

 

     Alongside the MFDs, we installed software which will help manage the machines and also notify us when they are in need of various bits and pieces. This also enables extra machines to be added as they are needed. Limiting the models of the machines to only three different ones also allows us to keep ahead of toner stock and helps to avoid confusion and mistakes.

 

 

 

     PaperCut, a secure print release solution, allows the monitoring of print usage and helps reduce waste which reduces the carbon footprint produced by their enterprise.

 

 

 

     By doing it in this way we saved around 20% on total costs, with further savings projected over the course of the contract. The reliable machines and a robust network structure will serve us well in the coming years. Barnet and Southgate’s new campus will be set up well for the next several years for all their printing needs thanks to this method of roll-out.
